Living and learning in Canterbury, a true British city, will improve your level of English quickly and effectively. It will also give you a real taste of British/European culture and way of life! Our campus is at the heart of Canterbury, with short walk to nearby attractions, like the Canterbury Cathedral. GAU Canterbury is accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC) which ensures the delivery of quality foundation, degree and post graduate degree programs.


GAUC accepts students from GAU and other affiliated universities. Students from other universities can also take advantage of this opportunity to study in the UK! GAU students are eligible to spend maximum 4 semesters (inclusive of the summer term) studying their chosen field at the Canterbury Campus. The last semester of studies students must completed at GAU Cyprus. Students can also attend the Canterbury campus English Language Academy for short courses in English.


Students will stay at the campus residence halls, which is only a few minutes' walk from the campus.

Entry Requirements

  • Course Approval Form
  • Copy of International passport
  • Copy of passport page with the current student visa
  • Passport type photo
  • TOEFL or IELTS result when you applied to GAU. Alternatively: Letter confirming level of English from the GAU Foundation English Program
  • There is no CGPA requirements to study in Canterbury
  • Students must be at least 18 years old


Please Note: Non European Union (EU) and non European Economic Area (EEA) nationals are classified as international students and are required to obtain Visas to study in the UK from the United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA) at their local British Embassy or Consulate. Students from GAU Cyprus wishing to study on the Study Abroad Program GAU Canterbury for one semester should obtain the six months Student Visitor Visa. Only students with valid IELTS score minimum 5.00 can apply for 11 months visa.

Program Fees and Accommodation

Program Fees are the same as the GAU tuition. During the Fall and Spring semesters you can apply all of your scholarships and discounts towards your stay in GAUC! Students are responsible for their own travel and personal expenses as well as their medical insurances. GAUC assists with the UK visa short-term study application and the students' airport pickup.

One Semester's (16 weeks) accommodation fee , single room - £2000. The electricity and water bills, WiFi internet up to certain usage are included in the accommodation fee. Student willing extend stay in accommodation will pay £125 per week.


Students will not be accepted in the accommodation before the 28th of September 2015 for the Fall 2015 semester, 8th February 2016 for the Spring 2016 semester and 15th of June 2016 for the Summer 2016 semester.




University offers single rooms, with en-suite bathroom, a study desk, closets and has wifi access. There is a communal kitchen and laundry machines.
